Fire Extinguishers

FlameSkill fire extinguishers are available for all types of risk, they are certified to British Standard BS/EN3 and are CE marked.

Extinguishers carry a full 5 year manufacturers warranty provided the units are serviced annually in accordance with BS5306 Pt3.

Extinguisher Maintenance
Extinguishers should be regularly and routinely inspected by the user, preferably at monthly intervals to make sure that applicances are in their proper position and have not been discharged or lost pressure.

The user should replace extinguishers that are no longer useable with serviceable extinguishers. Annual inspection, installation, commissioning, servicing and test discharging should be carried out by a competent person.

The UK servicing standard BS 5306 part 3 puts the onus on the user (i.e. the company) to use a competent person and that extinguishers should be installed, commissioned and serviced to that standard and the manufactures recommended procedure.

Water Fire Extinguishers

Designed for universal use against class A rated fires of solid matter such as wood, paper, straw, coal and textiles.

Typical applications include offices and general industrial uses, farm storage, paper mills, wood working and machinery and fabric handling and upholstery facilities.

Foam Fire Extinguishers

Foam spray extinguishers, (AFFF - Aqueous Film Forming Foam), are ideal for multi-risk situations where both Class A combustible materials and Class B flammable liquid risks are likely to be found, or where Class B risks present a direct hazard. Foam spray extinguishers are especially suitable for Class B fires involving flammable liquids such as oils, spirits, greases, fats and certain plastics.

The blanketing effect of foam spray gives rapid flame knock down which smothers the flame and thus prevents re-ignition of flammable vapours by sealing the surface of the solution.

Powder Fire Extinguishers

Powder extinguishers are suitable for use on Class A, B and also Class C type fires involving flammable gasses such as propane and butane. Powder is also highly sffective for electrical hazards

This multi-purpose powder interferes with the combustion process and provides rapid-fire knock down.

CO2 Fire Extinguishers

Carbon Dioxide extinguishers are suitable for fires involving flammable liquids and electrical hazards. The non-corrosive and non-conductive qualities of CO2 make it an ideal choice for dealing with fires involving electrical equipment and machinery. Manufactured only in a stored pressure version.

Suitable for Class BC fires:
Class B flammable liquids such as petrol, oil, fats, solvents, paints.
Class C flammable gases such as methane, natural or manufactured.

Safe for use on electrical equipment.

Helideck Extended Lances are available for CO2 Units. Units can be supplied with heavy duty weather covers.

Trolley units should be serviced annually by a competent person and tested every 5 years.
