Dry Riser/Hydrants

A dry riser is a vertical pipe or a system of pipes and valves that extend to the upper storeys of a multi-storey building.
In case of fire, the Fire Brigade connect their water supply directly to the riser, providing near-immediate access to water on all floors of the building. Dry risers are a highly effective way to deliver water quickly to a buildings higher storeys to control a fire.

British standards recommend that dry riser systems should be visually inspected every 6 months and tested once a year to ensure the equipment is ready for any emergency.

Gate Valves:
Dry riser gate valves are manufactured to BS 5041 Pt 2.

The gate valves are available with a 2.5" Table D/E or PN16 Flange and a 2.5" BSP Male or Female Thread.


Hydrant Globe Valves:
Manufactured to BS 5041 Pt 1 and BS 5154 they all have dual seats.

Available in four patterns, Right Angle, horizontal, Bib Nose and Oblique.
Inlets can be flanged or threaded and outlets with 2.5" Instantaneous Female or any International fitting.

Available as a 2-way or 4-way pumping in breeching to BS 5041 Pt 3

2-way Inlet Breeching.
Inlet: 2 x 2.5" Instantaneous Male Non Return Valve
Outlet: 4" PN16 or Table D Flange.

4-way Inlet Breeching.
Inlet: 4 x 2.5" Instantaneous Male Non Return Valve
Outlet: 6" PN16 or Table D Flange.

Dry Riser cabinets are manufactured to BS 5041 Pt 4. Made in mild steel with epoxy powder coated in red.
They also have wired Georgian glass and yale lock.

Available in horizontal or vertical pattern, to contain either 2-way or 4-way inlet breechings.

Dry Riser Outlet cabinets are manufactured to BS 5041 Pt 5 made in steel with red epoxy powder coated finish. They also have wired Georgian glass door with a yale lock.

Globe valves available in Horizontal, Right Angle, Oblique and Bib Nose patterns. Various inlets and outlets.

Wet riser pressure regulating Bib Nose hydrant valves are available with flanged or threaded inlets and outlets with 2.5" Instantaneous Female or any International fitting.
